To find out whether a movie is a remake or not, one need not have some PHd or need not go through forensic labs. Just basic commonsense and the patience to watch the two movies completely are enough. You just watch the two movies and come to a conclusion whether it is a remake or not. The producers and the actors will say some bull**** as they need to make money. Obviously you cannot say that manichitrathazhu is a remake of chandramukhi, bcos the former was made in 1993.
